Flower Dragons 1

Flower dragons! I just love how they turned out. It's kind of fun concepting these out on paper and then sculpting them. Here is her concept art by the way: dragonsandbeasties.deviantart.…
She took soooo long! Even the baby because of all that tiny filigree done entirely in colored clay. Of course the swirls had to be absolutely perfect. A very tedious task, and sometimes frustrating cuz these guys are quite small, but so worth it in the end. I considered for a short moment just painting on all the swirls, but the clay looks more vine-y and natural I think. The petals actually have a really nice texture to them that isn't really showing up in this photo. They also have a really pretty shimmer to them. Better pic of that here:


I'll be putting them up for auction sometime soon so keep an eye out for a journal announcing it
